Harriet Spann Stowers November 18, 1923 July 26, 2017 Harriet Spann Stowers was born to Ike and Rose Spann on Novmeber 18, 1923 in the town of Macon, Mississippi. Harriet accepted Christ at a young age. She was a member of West 29th Street Church of God for many years until her health rendered her unable to attend services. Harriet was united in marriage to Mr. Seab Stowers on November 9, 1941, with whom she enjoyed a warm and devoted relationship for sixty-one years. Harriet was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She raised 12 children along with her husband and helped raise several grandchildren. She was an excellent cook who mastered Southern style cooking. She happily shared her recipes with other family members. Harriet loved to shop and dressed beautifully. Her favorite past time would be to go shopping while Mr. Stowers would sit and people watch. This could be an all-day event. Harriet was an integral member of a large, loving family. Harriet departed this life peacefully on the morning of Wednesday, July 26, 2017. She was preceeded in death by her parents, Ike and Rose Spann; her husband, Seab Stowers; her children, Eddie Stowers, Seab Stowers, Jr., Sam Stowers, Jack Stowers, Emmitt Stowers, daughters, Nancy Stowers, Armie Boles; grandson, Demond Hall and granddaughter, Terri Mockerbie. Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Cora Gant-Collins (Daniel), Randy Stowers, Michael Stowers, Gregory Stowers (Kimberly), Sherry Tardy, and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
