Obituary of Herman Murray

~~Herman Murray, 87, of Indianapolis passed away on August 2, 2017. Herman was born in January 2, 1930 in Indianapolis, IN to Flem and Virginia Murray. Herman graduated with the Crispus Attuck Highschool class of 1948. Herman attended and graduated from Purdue University; where he was the first all American black football player to play for Purdue University. Herman retired from the US Navy after serving for more than twenty years as a doctor of dentistry. He went on to work for Arco Durethene Plastics, Inc and Arco Chemicals before retiring. After retirement and while living in Long Beach, Ca he drove a school bus for special needs children. One of his favorite past times, Herman enjoyed bowling with his wife and friends. Herman is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ernst Murray, Ulis Murray, Richard Murray and Flem Murray Jr., sisters Anna Mae White, Ruth Murray, Rulay Murray and Edna Murray and step-brother, Skeeter Murray and in 2014, he was preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife, LaRuth Murray. He is survived by nieces, Sandra R.
