Obituary of George Eddie Branch
George Eddie Branch of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at the age of sixty-seven years. George was born in Shaw, Mississippi where he attended elementary school and junior high school. George relocated to Indianapolis with his parents and family in 1966. George graduated from Crispus Attucks High School in 1969; however, he was drafted to serve his country in the United States Army on the front lines in the Vietnam War.
George professed a hope in Christ at an early age and attended Tabernacle Missionary Baptist church along with his family and later joined Greater Northwest Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Claude Robinson, Pastor Emeritus. After returning from the war in 1971, George relocated to Toledo, Ohio where he attended the University of Toledo and studied respiratory therapy. George worked at St. Vincents Hospital as a respiratory therapist for six years.
He then decided to move to Sacramento, California and worked at American River Hospital as a respiratory therapist until 1990. He then relocated to Phoenix, Arizona and resided there until moving back to Indianapolis in 1994 where he met the love of his life, Sandra Hendon.
George and Sandra united in holy matrimony on December 16, 1995 and they had marital bliss for 23 years. George had a smile that would light up the room. His love for people flourished because he never met a stranger. He was a mentor and very influential in the lives of young people. Although he had his personal struggles, George was a man of integrity, pride, and class. He enjoyed travelling, working out at the gym and entertaining others. He had a love for the finer things in life including luxury cars and always dressed to impress. Most important; however, is that he was a spiritual man who knew the Lord and had a heart of gold.
George was preceded in death by his parents, Lula B. and Dennis Williams, his biological father, James Branch, his son, Gary Branch and several aunts, uncles and grandparents. George leaves to cherish his memories, a loving devoted wife, Sandra Branch; one daughter, Donna Marie Branch; one son, Jason Branch; stepchildren Angela Felix (James); James Bowman, II (Angela); Leandra Jingles (Stacy); Jeremy Bowman (Melissa); 10 sisters; Betty Moseby; Minnie Branch; Mary Lee; Vera Doucoure; Shirley Adams; Mildred and Glennella Williams; Jackie (Keenan) Gibbs; Gail (Robert) Nettles of Phoenix Arizona; and Tracy Faulkner of Dubai; two brothers; James Rogers of Toledo, Ohio and Larry (Tanishia) Williams of Phoenix, Arizona; sister-in-law, Ronnie Simms (Michelle) of Boston, Massachusetts and one brother -in-law, Clauis (Reva) Hendon of San Clemente, California; one aunt, Earlene Priest (Donald); 19 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
