Obituary of Sarah Moyer
Sarah Jane Moyer, 78, of Hagerstown, IN, formerly of Lancaster, KY, died Thursday,
February 7, 2019, at Reid Health in Richmond, IN.
Born April 5, 1940, in Garrard County, Kentucky, to George and Fannie Middleton, she
was a member of the Buckeye High School graduating class of 1957.
Sarah and her husband Fred Moyer were married 38 years; Fred preceded her in death
in 1999. They spent many years in the restaurant business and formerly owned and operated
the Ron-De-Voo and Moyers Pub.
Survivors include son David (Debbie) Middleton, of Lancaster, KY; three daughters,
Tammy Moyer, of Cambridge City, Becky (David) Bicknell, of New Castle, and Angie Moyer of
Cambridge City; three sisters, Chris Wuebben of Centerville, OH; twin sister Sally Jones of
Nicholasville, KY, and Rose (Dick) Murray of Hagerstown; three brothers, Rex (Faye) Middleton
of Alabama, Bobby (Billie) Middleton of Lancaster, KY, and Jimmy Middleton of Lexington, KY;
eight grandchildren, Rhonda (David) Yoder and Ronald David (Bobi) Middleton, both of
Lancaster, KY, Whitney (Joe) Longfellow, of Fountain City, IN, Brock (Sarah) Fisher of
Hagerstown, IN, Kayla Frost and Jacob Frost of New Castle, IN, and Nate Burns and Trey
Sharp both of Hagerstown, IN; ten great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Sarah was preceded in death by her parents; siblings,
Alberta Middleton, Lula Mae Risby, Dorothy Soloman, Delores Walker, Betty Giles and Maurice
Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 23, at 2 p.m. in The Special
Events Center at 500 West Main Street, Hagerstown, IN. Sarah will be laid to rest by her
husband Fred, at the Greens Fork Cemetery with a private graveside ceremony.
Serenity Funeral and Cremation Services handled the arrangements.
