Obituary of William Harding
William E. "Bill" Harding, Jr. 81, of Avon, passed away on May 26, 2009. He was born on December 2, 1927. Bill worked as the Director of Administrative Services for the Department of Family and Child Services for 47 years. He was a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War and received two Bronze Service Stars. Bill received the Sagamore of the Wabash by Governor Evan Bayh in 1994, was a member of the K of C Fatima #3228 and was a semi-pro bowler. Bill was preceded in death by his sisters, Doris and Betty. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte (Latz) Harding; son, W. Michael (Lisa) Harding; daughter, Trish Harding; brother, Ralph "Skip" (Faye) Harding; grandchildren, Molly and Michael; and nieces Donna, Kathryn and Jeffery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2009 at Stevens Mortuary from 4-8 pm. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 29, 2009 at Calvary Cemetery Chapel, Troy and Bluff Rd, at 10:30 am, where burial will follow.
