Condolences
So sad to hear. She had such spunk and she was such a fighter for so long dealing with her health. Hopefully, she is at peace now. Amber
OMG, I am so sorrry and ashamed that I have not stayed closer in touch but THANK YOU DAIVD for letting me know about Evelyn! I met Evalyn years ago when working at Indiana University and was quite surprised that we struck up such a friendship, as she was one of those people that no matter how it came out she said it and I was not!! To my surprise though I learned to love her and her laugh was infectious! Her, Vicki Dixson, and I were a three some.....and the laughs were on going!! I will miss Evelyn but am sure we will see each other some day soon!! Can't wait for all those laughs again!!
Dave I am very sorry to learn of your loss. While I never met Evalyn I know she had to have a strong character. I know she will be missed. "May the road rise to meet your feet. May the wind be always at your back. May the rains fall soft upon your fields. And, until you meet again, May God hold you in the hollow of His hand"!
I met Evalyn in 1984. What a journey that was. I'm torn between tears and then I think of some outrageous thing she said/did and then I laugh. She was truly one of a kind. I already told God that he will have his hands full when she arrives. Bless David for always being there for her. He was her ROCK. Thank God for the memories. I will always miss my friend. She put color and depth in my silhouette world. Not always the color or depth I would prefer, but often better.
I have been so blessed to have Evalyn and David as a huge part of my life. The moment they moved next door, they became a part of our family. Evalyn was like a 2nd mother to my sister Carla and I, but to me, she was always more than that. She was my teacher, my best friend and my mentor of life. She was such a huge influence in my life and I will always be so grateful of your love and your lessons. I pray you are one I see in peace. Thank you for always being there. Your loving daughter forever, Christine
