Condolences
Beverly will definitely be missed in our community. Her heart was soft but you always knew where you stood with her. I pray for comfort for her family during this difficult time.
To Greg and Lady (Leslie) may u continue to remember the good times and hold on to the memories and always know we love u always and forever and know that mama and Aunt Bev is together and smiling on high and God give you strength to go thru
My Buddy, my niece, my friend. What can I say, whatever I say its hard. Our growing up together, and letting all of our friends think we were cousins. Being the daughter of my older brother, and being one year and one month apart with our birthdays. Bev, I know you are now resting in peace, its been a long journey for you. I will always love you and the 83 years we spent together as family. Say hello to our family, they are waiting at the Pearly Gate to welcome you. Bettijean Caldwell Harris
I moved to the apartment next door to Beverly four years ago. She was hospitalized at that time, and I didn't meet her for several months. When I did I found her to be warm and friendly. She was a lovely person. My life has changed dramatically since I moved here, and she was always there to comfort me when i learned that I had cancer, and when my cancer returned, and when my husband passed way. I always enjoyed talking with her. She told me about the Crispus Attucks High School Museum, and I hoped to visit it with her. But she was never well enough to take me there. She was a Christian, and I know she is in heaven now. I will miss her.
Bev was a beloved member of our staff at the National Labor Relations Board. She was someone who could be counted on to have a kind word and a smile. Bev attended a reunion in 2007 and is pictured below with Joanne Mages and Belinda Brown. The pic on the right is with me - she came to my retirement party in 2011.
I WAS A NEIGHBOR OF BEVERLY AT THE KNOLL FOR MANY YEARS SHE WAS MY FRIEND AND COOKING BUDDY. WE SHARED MANY RECIPES BACK AND FORTH. THOSE FRIED POTATOES ARE STILL ON MY MENUS. REST IN PEACE MY FRIEND HUGS TO HER FAMILY AND PRAYERS FOR ALL CONNIE HIGHT
To My Cousins Greg, Leslie(Lady), Earth has no sorrow that heaven can not heal. My prayers are with you both. Knowing she is not suffering anymore. She is in the land of NO MORE PAIN!!!! Just know my prayers are with you ALL. I will miss my Auntie till we met again. Love you both. Cousin. Rhonda
Please know that I am thinking about you and your family as you are going through this difficult time. Yes we know that we all must leave this earthly home. Yes we know that the pain and suffering is over. Those words at this specific time perhaps does not ease the pain, so know that I am here for you. Leslie I love you like a sister and I hate that you are having to go through this. Just know that I can't dry your tears, but I am her to wipe you tears. Love you. Darlene
Greg, Lady and family, please know that I share your grief and will continue to remember you all in prayer. The Combs/Collins family has been a part of my life for almost 60 years, and that's a mighty long time. I cherish some of the fond times we spent together, and Bev was one of my favorite people, a good friend. I miss her. Peace be still!

Precious Memories of Beverly Ann Combs Collins As I reflect upon precious memories of Beverly my friend, sister and classmate much is recalled. Precious Memories cause my mind to revert to a meaningful quote of U.S. Senator Cory Booker and Colonel Colin Powell – ‘‘Life is about purpose not position or prosperity. ‘Our friends know us, and in adversity we know our friends’. Both quotes can be related to the friendship between Beverly and DeLores... Good acquaintances are rare jewels of life and are difficult to replace. We shared much warmth and love of close friendship during our joyous years at Crispus Attucks High School and clubs. But each of us had a path divinely outlined which we were destined to follow therefore, Beverly and I experienced some separation. But when we got together, we could reminisce and embraced to feel the bonding we had. Many thought we were sisters due so much similarity. We had our little secrets… and affection. She will be missed but not forgotten. She was a rare jewel needed during a life encounter This we know… The earth does not belong to Man or Woman. Man and Woman belong to the earth. ALL things are connected like the blood that unites one family. Man or Woman did not weave the web of life. He or She is merely a strand in it. Whatsoever, He or She does to the web they do unto themselves. Precious Memories will linger not only with me, but I share with you Gregory and Leslie. Precious Memories will forever flow.
