Obituary of John Lee Ealy
John Lee Ealy was born December 29th, 1946 in Harperville, MS to his parents J.L. Ealy and Mary Lois Lemon. When John was a young boy his parents moved to Indianapolis, Indiana with his other siblings. John attended Arsenal Technical High in Indianapolis where he graduated in 1966. While attending Tech High School John was involved in several activities including football and academics. He earned a scholarship and attended William Jewel College in Kansas City, MO. After his tenure at WJC he joined the US Navy. After completing his Navy commitment John returned to school. He enrolled in Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA. Here he earned a Masters degree in Psychology. John married Brenda Hunt and was blessed with two children Anthony and Angela. John later married Jackie Evans and they moved to Germany where they both worked for the government. There John and Jackie was blessed with a third child named Ashlee.
John returned to the United States and worked as a Social Worker for the mental health and child services department in Indianapolis.
After his stepfather's death in 2004 John devoted the remaining years of his life caring for his elderly mother.
John is survived by his mother Mary and his siblings John Spivey, Jr., Connie Williams, Leatha Newton, Bonnie Williams, Charles Spivey, David Spivey, Brenda Spivey and James Elliott and his sister Mary Spivey. His children, Ashlee Ealy, Anthony Ealy and Angela Ealy.
We also remember our beloved brother Jessie Lewis Ealy who preceded him in death. John also has grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.
John will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
"The hour is coming in which all who are in the grave will hear his voice and come forth. Those who have done good to the resurrection of life." John 5:28-29
May our merciful and loving God let you rest in peace my brother in paradise! You will always live in our hearts.
