Obituary
Obituary of Mary Edith Brunson
Mary Edith Brunson, 82 of Indianapolis passed away surrounded by her family, Sunday, December 13, 2020. Mary was born in Celina, Tennessee on March 16, 1938 to Haskel and Fannie Belle (Capps) Grogan. Mary will be remembered and treasured for her bottomless pit of unconditional love. Mary enjoyed playing Bingo, thrift shopping, and collecting angels. She was an incredible cook, who found happiness in preparing food for her family; especially, egg sandwiches, fudge, fried chicken, milkshakes, Sunday pot roast dinners, and her famous biscuits and gravy. She was an animal lover, having cared for many dogs, cats, and birds throughout her life. Mary loved country music. She was kind, generous, loving, forgiving yet feisty, and tenacious. Most of all she was the best, most loving, devoted, and dedicated mother and grandmother. Her family was her life. She spent her entire life as a homemaker, raising her seven children and also her grandchildren. Each of her grandchildren could tell stories of days spent at grandma's house. She brought much comfort and joy to her family, and she found her own comfort in doing so. She was a saviour to many people, anyone that she could help, she would and did. She loved without judgment. She was the epitome of loyalty, trust, and never ending love. She will be sorely missed by all.
Mary is survived by her children, Mary Maulden, Karen (Rob) Llyod, Eddie Welch, Tammie (Chip) Chappell and Donnie Welch; 21 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; brothers; Bud Grogan, Elvie (Barb) Grogan, and Ed (Lois) Grogan; many nieces, nephews and extended family. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bob Brunson; daughter, Thelma Green; son, Robert "Bubby" Harden; grandsons, Christopher Newland and Baby William; son in law, Buck Maulden; and brothers, Cleston and Chester Grogan.
