Obituary of Jeannie Green - Taylor

Our dearly loved wife, mother, daughter and sister Jeannie Rana Green-Taylor, at the age of 51 has gone to rest for a short while. She entered her sleep on December 20, 2020 at IU Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis, Indiana.
She came into this world on May 13, 1969, to the union of her parents, Mary Jean (Malone, Green) Williams and Leathimer Green, in Natchez, Mississippi. On November 07, 1991 she and Kim Lester Taylor were married.
Jeannie moved from Natchez, Mississippi as an infant to Buffalo, New York, where she resided for nine years, before moving to South Bend, Indiana. In 2005 she moved to Indianapolis, Indiana where she resided until her passing.
Jeannie attended Clay High School in South Bend, Indiana. Jeannie always had a caring, fun loving, hardworking entrepreneurial spirit. During high school and beyond, Jeannie worked as a Candy Striper at Memorial Hospital in South Bend. She went on to work in catering at St. Mary's, Notre Dame and finally helping to run a sandwich shop on Portage Road and her own catering service.
Growing up Jeannie's mother always imparted her spiritual values. For 29 years Jeannie was a loving mother and wife. Jeannie was known for close relationship to her mother. Her daily check on her mother's wellbeing. The care and love for her children, family and friends. Most notable was her smile, infectious laugh, sense of humor, jokes and zest for life. She always wanted everyone around her to feel uplifted.
Jeannie loved being a homemaker. She loved socializing with her family and friends, cooking, gardening and taking care of her plants, singing, dancing, playing cards, games and shopping.
Jeannie leaves behind to cherish her memory: husband Kim Lester (TK) Taylor. Son: Larry Darnell Wade Patterson of South Bend, IN. Daughters: Brittany Rana Taylor (David De'Von Bryant) and Kimberly Chantel Taylor (Brandon La'Marr Brown) of Indianapolis, IN; Mother: Mary Jean Williams. Sisters: Lisa Ann Green and Tyna L. Green-Seall (Jay) all of Indianapolis, IN. Brother: James Trenton Jenkins (Domonique/Sierra). Grandchildren: Jonah A. Bryant, Brandon L. Brown Jr., Brayden L. Brown, Donavon L. Brown, Brayana L. Brown, La'Nya M. Patterson, Joseph X. Patterson and Larrissa R. Patterson. Nieces: Ashley Fleming-Brown, Alexis Perkins, Alicia Green, Daniella Green, Delisa Green, Amarie Jenkins and Amaya Jenkins. Nephews: Thomas Seall, James Jenkins Jr., Giovanni Jenkins, Levas Jenkins and Malachi. Along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, loved ones and friends.
Jeannie was preceded in death by her father Leathimer Green. Grandchildren: David E. Bryant and Josiah D. Bryant. Maternal Grandparents: Ruby M. Foster Malone and Ernest L. Malone, Paternal Grandparents: Perlina Birdie Green and Frank Green. Aunts: Ernestine Marie Hickman, Mamie "Antoine" Lee Sullivan and Juanita Malone, Edith Thomas Malone, Francine Malone, Brenda Malone and Debra Kay Malone. Uncles: Lester Brandon Malone, George Timothy Malone and Gregory Anthony Malone. Cousins: Ruby Hickman, Cherlie Ann and Cheryl Denise Green. Second cousin: Stevie "Bird" Hickman. Maternal Great-Grandparents: Nettie Magnolia (Byers) and George Washington Malone. Mamie (McGowan) and John Sullivan Foster. Paternal Great-Grandparents: Mary Birdie and Julie Green. A host of great-aunts and great-uncles, cousins, loved ones and friends.
Until we are together again, we will miss, our wonderful mother, daughter, sister, niece, cousin and friend. Her zest for life and all that is included, her smile, and her laughter will be greatly missed and cherished by all those who knew and loved her.
