Obituary of Elder Freddie Lee Wilks
Elder Freddie Lee Wilks was born January 24, 1951 to the late Elijah and Mary Roland Wilks in Brickley, Arkansas Freddie was one of 14 children and is survived by two sisters and 1 brother. Freddie received his primary & secondary education in Marianna Public School and graduated from Lee High School. Elder Freddie went on to further his education by attending Lincoln Technology in Indianapolis, In. In the Spring of 1972 while attending Grace Apostolic church Elder Freddie surrendered his life to the Lord. He was baptized and received the precious gift of the Holy Ghost. Soon after Freddie started serving the Lord, the Lord blessed him with the "Apple of his eye" Judy Armour and they were married on March 3, 1973. Elder Freddie and Sis. Judy went to assist their brother-in-law Dist. Elder Charles Madison at Bethlehem Apostolic Church in Franklin, In for 16 years. Elder Freddie later joined New Wineskin Ministries under the founder Bishop Byron Johnson, who later turned the mantle over to the current pastor, Pastor Mark V. Brown. Elder Freddie heard a higher calling from the Lord for him to become an ordained minister so he answered that call and begin ordination classes with New Wineskin Ministries & New Beginning Ministries with the Bishop J. Laverne Tyson and Bishop Byron Johnson jointly ordaining ministers to spread the word of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.. Elder Freddie was ordained on August 27, 2006. Elder Freddie worked beside Elder Kenneth & Minister Pauline Wiggins in the Nursing Home Ministry for several years. Elder Freddie was employed at Holcomb & Hoke for 36 years as a Utility Wood Operator retiring in 2009. Elder Freddie was predeceased by his sisters, Mildred, Margaret, Bernice, Annie Doris, Lucille, and Mary, his brothers, Robert, Andrew, Elijah III, Willie Melvin. Elder Freddie leaves to cherish his memory his wife Judy, his daughters Joy Wilks, Jana (Anthony) French-Conley, Jennell (Stephen) McCullam, son/nephew Vidal Goodman, two sisters Anna Martin of Columbus, In, Barbara Madison (Charles) of Franklin, In, Jodie (Alma) Wilks of Lafayette, In. 15 Grandchildren, 2 Great-Grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
