Richard and Rose were married on June 27,1981 and fell three days shy of their 40th wedding anniversary before passing. But rest assure they celebrated it in heaven. Richard was born in Indianapolis, IN to the parents of Floyd Donald and Helen Harriett Baker. At the age of five Richard lost his mother and was later raised by his grandparents. This turn of events led Richard to strive harder in life and graduated from Purdue University with a bachelor's degree of Science. He retired as a computer programmer for the State of Indiana. Rose was born in Greencastle, IN to Curtis G. and Luda Ruth Norman. After graduating secretarial school, she began a career with Indiana Bell which later became AT&T where she quickly rose to the top. She retired as an executive secretary for AT&T. Both Richard and Rose felt most at home in their church. Richard was a sports enthusiast who could hold his own in a sport like conversation with the best of them. Rose had a special gift to believe in people more than they believed in themselves and was a motivator to many in more ways than she realized. She was an unparalleled pray warrior who enjoyed sharing stories of healing with anyone who would catch her smile. Richard is preceded in death by his parents. Richard is survived by his half-brother Alan Baker, stepdaughters Cheryl Lynn (Larry) Vega and Joanna Ruth Bess. Rose is preceded in death by her father, Curtis G. Norman. Rose is survived by her two daughters Cheryl Lynn (Larry) Vega; Joanna Ruth Bess; four grandchildren Larry Vega; Jeremy Vega; Alyssa Vega; Nicholas (Ashley) Vega; Mother Luda Ruth Norman; sister Mary Lou Mahan; brother Jerry (Geraldine) Norman; brother Carl (Robin) Norman; sister Evelyn "Susie" Meyer and sister Lorita (Richard) Dillon.
Richard and Rose were wonderful Grandparents, Sister, Brother, Cousin, Aunt, Uncle and Friend. They will truly be missed by all. We take comfort knowing you're now in our Lord's warm embrace.
