Obituary
Obituary of Lucille M. Clarke
Lucille Maud Clarke, the daughter of Mirell and Emanuel James was born on December 1, 1929 in James Hill, Clarendon, Jamaica, West Indies. She was united in marriage to the late Bishop Gilbert Simnell Clarke on September 26, 1956. To this union, eight children were born, two in Jamaica and six in England.
Mother Clarke, as she was affectionately known, left Jamaica and went to England where she lived for sixteen years before coming to America in 1975 in search for a better way of life, as her husband pursued the calling of God's will for their lives.
Mother Clarke professed a Hope in Christ in 1947 and she became a member of the Church of God organization. At the time of her Home Going, she was a dedicated member in good standing with Trinity Fellowship Church of God. Mother Clarke enjoyed studying the word of God and sharing it with everyone that she came in contact with. She was also a great prayer warrior, and she loved to pray for anyone who had a need. Mother Clarke retired from Delaware Nursing Home where she worked for many years. She was a seamstress and she enjoyed making dresses for her daughters, so they could dress a like going to church on Sundays. Mother Clarke enjoyed taking care of her family, as they were her pride and joy. She was a mother to anyone who accepted her as their mother, and a friend to the friendless. Lucille Maude Clarke departed this life to receive her just reward from our heavenly Father on September 22, 2021 at the age of ninety-one years, nine months, and twenty-one days. She was preceded in death by her parents; and other siblings; daughter Avaneta Hessaraki; grandsons Andre Clarke and Anthony Russ II; and great granddaughter Naomi Yvonne Clarke. Mother Clarke leaves to cherish her memories, her children Marcia Clarke, Winsome "Rose" (Dale) Clark, Shirley (Ron) Clarke, Yvonne (Griff) Clarke-Boutwell, Hart (Fred) Clarke-Kelso, Earl Clark and Keith (Tina) Clarke; her sisters-in-law; her brothers-in-law; grandchildren; great grandchildren; and one great-great grandson; nieces; nephews; along with extended family members; her nurse Ms. Patrica Johnson; long time caregiver Barbara Gathers; and a host of relatives and friends.
