Gregory Louis Thomas, 68, (also known as Gregory St. Thomas and Uncle G), departed this life on September 29, 2021, in Indianapolis, IN. He is the 8th child and the youngest son of Roberta and Julius Thomas born on November 17, 1952. Gregory was a devoted son, brother, and uncle. He is the proud "Papa" of Tracie Smith, Nadia McCann and Donovan Thomas and a Loving "Grand Papa" to Aidan, Lexsie, Hailey, Aleah, Kynedi and Zion. He enjoys spending time with each and sharing in special milestones in their lives. Gregory being one of the youngest of the Thomas family, truly forged his own path with his natural adventurous and entrepreneurial mind, wit, charming personality, and forward thinking in business, politics fashion and Interior design. He was educated in the Catholic school system including St. Bridget's and St. Thomas Aquinas where he served as an altar boy. He excelled as an athlete and attended Cathedral High School where he lettered in Football and Track & Field. Gregory graduated from Indiana University and went on to become a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity where he gained a passion for community service. Gregory used that passion to help and serve others. Not just in his community but extended out to his grand nieces and nephews by making himself available to them for advice, emotional and/or financial assistance. Gregory's professional career was as a Journeyman at Allison Gas Turbine where he retired after over 30 years of service. After retirement he took on many entrepreneurial adventures including real estate investing, property management and St. Thomas Trading International LLC. He sought out opportunities to serve and assist as a member of the advisory board for HOA, member of J.C.P.C, Durham (NC), Alumni Chapter Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. and most recent active volunteer for the Indianapolis Urban League. Gregory was an avid news junkie and he loved CNN, MSNBC, and Bill Maher. Gregory's larger than life personality took him many places from traveling the world to being featured on the Oprah Winfrey Show the "Blue Collar Hunks" episode in which his dashing charm made him a local celebrity. Gregory's infectious smile, master of words, phrases and motivational quotes allowed him to connect and share his knowledge with many he encountered. Often sharing wisdom and deep conversations that made a difference. Gregory's reflection for 2021 was "If you love what you have you will always have what you want". He made the choice to see and focus on the positive in his life, and his happiness. Gregory loved cooking and caring for his first love, his loving mother Roberta and sister/housemate Beverly. He was dedicated to being there for his mother. Gregory realized his purpose in life had shifted and he embraced and cherished the time and moments he shared with them. He did not waver in his commitment to her and her wellbeing. Family was most important to him. Gregory's spirit of adventure allowed him recently to experience the thrill of skydiving with Tracie and Donovan. Affirming he was now on course to recalibrate and continue to enjoy his life bravely, boldly and led by Faith. If he was not on an exciting excursion with his family or close friends, then he was relaxing on the water at a Carolina beach with his Life companion Kindra Holden.
