Obituary
Obituary of Charles Vincent Colbert
On January 18, 1967, Charles Vincent Colbert was born at Methodist Hospital to Dorothy and Charles Colbert. Vincent attended School 43 elementary school for grade school and continued to Northwest High School where he obtained his GED. Vincent grew up as a member of Little Flock Baptist Church and was such a firm believer he was baptized when he was 8 years old. Ever since then, no matter where life landed him, he was sure to spread the word of God to anyone he came across. A special scripture that he often read was Psalms 37; verse 23-28 but more specifically verse 24; "Though he falls, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand."
Vincent married Dorice Hatcher on 01/28/2018 at St Andrew Presbyterian Church. They had no children together but they did have two fur babies, Baby Doll and Popeye. In such a short time, they cherished each other's time together. They enjoyed traveling, movies, game night, and cooking together. Most of all, they enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Vincent was known by many as Smiley because he was always smiling or trying to make you smile. He loved to dance, play music and sing; the fact that he couldn't hold a tune didn't stop him from trying to sing his little heart out. Vincent always tried to inspire ones around him and share words of wisdom. If you ever heard his testimony, you know he has never been shy to let his light shine. He often went out of his way to help others in need even if he couldn't help himself. If anyone knew Vincent, you knew there was no person on earth that was a stranger to him at any given time. His charismatic charm would steal anyone's heart. He was a very caring man with a strong desire to see and make others happy. He always had a memorable presence wherever he went.
Vincent's kids were his most prized possession. He would always tell people how proud they made him. He did his best to make up for lost time with them and his grandkids
His sister Victoria Sassa-Lee preceded him
in heaven in April 2021 . Vincent passed on October 21 2021 and left behind his wife Dorice Hatcher, his father and mother Charles and Dorothy Colbert, his brothers Torrance Jay Colbert(Jacquie) and Charles Vinson Colbert, and sisters; Carol Colbert, Darlene Foster (Robert), Jeanette Kerley (Andre), Cindy Keiffer (Daren) Vincent had five beautiful kids Ebony Fluker (Juan), Chardae, Tiya, Parrish Smith (Ra'chael), and Joshua who he also left behind along with ten grandkids Duka, Emoni, Tamia, Parrish Jr, Nevaeh, Elyi, TJ, Justin, Justus, Paris and a parade of Aunts, Uncles, nieces and nephews. He always tried to bring us together and could always be the life of the party. As he was one hard to forget while on earth, he will not be forgotten and will be truly missed.
