Obituary of Joyce M. Hall

Joyce Marie Hall, was born on March 9, 1945, in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was the daughter of Earl D. Hoskins Sr. and Marie N. (Mitchell) Hoskins. Joyce accepted Christ into her life at an early age. She joined Robinson AME, under the leadership of Pastor Robert E. Harvey, and later transitioned with Pastor Harvey to New Zion Community Church as an honorary member as her health declined. Joyce was educated in the Indianapolis Public School system. Upon graduation, she entered the workforce and held various positions in the banking industry. In the mid 70s, Joyce relocated to Pasadena, California for a short period, returning to Indianapolis for the arrival of her first grandchild. Thereafter, she held a long-term position in finance for the West End Entertainment Center until her health failed. Joyce previously worked as a Personal Assistant and Caregiver to the owner/operator of the West End until the time of his death. Affectionately known as "Wendy" to many, her love for family was apparent, she would often highlight their achievements during conversations with friends (and even strangers). Joyce was regarded as an intellect, her competency for numerical calculations far expanded her formal education. During the formative years of the children in the family, Joyce championed "proper" english; often redirecting them to enunciate words and advising on the correct placement of prepositions. Joyce departed this life on the morning of November 2, 2023 at the age of 78 years, 7 months and 24 days. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Marie Hoskins; son, William "Billy" House; sister, Carolyn Hoskins; brothers, Donald Hoskins, Earl Hoskins Jr., Lawrence "Larry" Hoskins, and Norman Hoskins; and granddaughter, Monique Hooks. Joyce leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Cynthia Williams (John Valentine); sons, Stephen Hall and Hal Hall Jr. (Marlo); grandchildren, Robert Williams Jr. (Melissa), Michael Williams (Quiana), Domonique Hall, and Diamond Hall; great-grandchildren, Michael, Christopher, Amara and Mekhi; bonus daughter Bobbi Mitchell-Crowe; bonus grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; cousins; and the Fields family, who Joyce considered to be an extension of her own family.
