Mary Patricia (Patty) Elston
Mary P Elston, 77, of Zionsville, passed away at St. Vincent Hospital on Tuesday, February 20 th, 2024. Mary was born in Indianapolis on March 20 th, 1946, the daughter of Kenneth A. and Aleene B Beaman. Mary was raised in Indy, grew up Catholic and attended Holy Trinity; St Mary’s during her grade school and high school years. She worked over 25 years for Citizen’s Gas and Coke Utility. Known as Pat or Patty to her friends and family. She loved spending time with family and friends, playing cards; dice games, one favorite is Valdez. She had belonged to a Bunco Club for many years. She would spend hours visiting with people, meeting old friends and making new ones everywhere she went. She treasured trips traveling around the United States with her husband and daughter along with other family and friends, places in Kentucky, Tennessee, Florida, Mississippi, and Vegas were some of her favorites. She enjoyed playing scratch-offs and going to the casino with her husband Arthur. One most treasures is her beloved pets, especially her Yorkies, (6) Smergi, Schatzie, Sassafras, and Snoodles throughout the years, most recently Sugar and Spice. She loved enjoying the sunshine and usually had the dogs outside with her enjoying it right along side of her.
She leaves behind her husband of 53 years, Arthur D Elston Jr; her daughter,Tanyia M Elstonof Zionsville; step-son, Dane C (Lora) Elston of Battleground; granddaughter, Kerri A. (Justin) Bixler of Lafayette; great granddaughter, Kloe Elston, great grandson, Bryan Bixler, great granddaughter, Kaylee Bixler. She leaves behind many nieces; nephews, brothers; sister-in-laws as well. She was preceded in death, by both of her parents; her brother, David A (Hope) Beaman; her grandson, Kristopher D Elston; and her nephew, Dave Beaman.
She will be forever loved and missed, forever in our hearts and memories. She loved fiercely and gave her heart openly. Her spirit is free, her body not in pain. She has wings and will soar. She will be greatly missed but will never be far away. Until we met again, we love you, Patty.
Services will be held at Stevens Mortuary, 5520 W 10 th St, Indianapolis, IN 46224 and Tippecanoe Memorial Gardens, 1718 W 350 N, West Lafayette, IN 47906. Family and friends viewing and visitation will be held on Sunday, February 25 th , 2024 from 2pm-6pm at Stevens Mortuary. There will be an additional brief calling/viewing held from 10-11am on Monday morning of February 26 th , 2024 prior to the funeral services. Funeral services will be at 11am and held at Stevens Mortuary. Service will be performed by Pastor Dave Buckner from Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. Services at Tippecanoe Memorial Gardens in West Lafayette, will reconvene prior to 2pm on Monday, February 26 th , 2024 for a brief ceremony held in the main chapel, performed by Pastor Adam Morris from Hickory Grove Church. The interment will follow at her gravesite.
