Obituary of Isetta Delois Edwards

Isetta Delois Edwards, daughter of the late Isaac and Anne Culver Sr., was born on September 13^th, 1953, in Montgomery, Alabama. The oldest of six children, she was raised in Gary, Indiana.

She accepted Christ at an early age and was a long-time member of Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir. Isetta graduated from West Side High School in 1971. She attended Ivy Tech and received an Associate’s Degree in Secretarial Sciences. Isetta was an employee of the US Postal Service for 20 years.

She married John Edwards and was blessed with five children Vanessa, Jacqueline, Jonathan, Crystal, and Sharla.

Isetta was a beautiful, caring woman who loved her family and most of all the Lord.  She was a dedicated mother who treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. Isetta made her heavenly transition on February 18^th, 2024.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children: Vanessa (Eric) Cochran, Jacqueline (Remmel) Chandler, Jonathan (Eboney) Edwards, Crystal (Crandal) Shumpert and Sharla Edwards all of Indianapolis, IN. Sisters: Carol (Gregory) Williams of Gary, IN and Faye (Tyrone) Harris of Indianapolis, IN; Brother: Rev. Isaac (Janice) Culver Jr. of Gary, IN; 20 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Isetta was preceded in death by her husband John Edwards,  parents, Isaac and Anne Culver Sr., brothers Hernando Culver and Thomas Culver, grandchildren Ebony Edwards and Nathan Edwards.
