Obituary of Elsie Mae Kennedy

Elsie Mae Kennedy, 90, of Indianapolis passed away on January 25, 2024. She was born in Montgomery, IN to John Howard and Jesse Osborne on November 8, 1933. Elsie was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church for 30 years, she served as a Eucharistic Minister, church cleaner and on the funeral food committee. She worked as a secretary and later became co-owner of Indy Cleaning Services. In her latter years, she became a homemaker. She enjoyed game shows, reading, playing cards and being a grandma! Elise was a loving wife, mom, grandma, great grandma and best friend. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Howard and Jessie Osborne; husband, Roger C. Kennedy; sisters, Rachel Wright and Marilyn Howard; and grandchild, Aaron Batson. Elsie is survived by her daughters, Cathy (Mike) Lachner of Plainfield, Karen (Kevin) Beckner of Indianapolis and Jackie (Bill) Reed of Hebron; son, John “Bob” (Maria) Kennedy of Greenwood; grandchildren, Jessica Fancher of Plainfield, Kevin Marusa of St. Croix, Scott Marusa of St. Croix, Clara Reed of Herbon, Caitlin Kennedy of Greenwood, Sarah Kennedy of Boise, ID, Connor Kennedy of Scottsdale, AR, Destiny Kennedy of Greenwood, and Kevin Gonzales of Greenwood; great grandchildren, Riley Kegeris of Avon, Eli Fancher of Plainfield, Aiden Fancher of Plainfield, Lyla Fancher of Plainfield, Emery James of Greenwood and Ashley Marusa of Illinois; niece, Marilyn Reiter of Greenwood; nephew, Mike Wright of Greenwood; and her best friend, Wilma Jean Holsapple of Indianapolis.
