Obituary of Michael Andrew Piper
Michael Andrew Piper, 58, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on July 14, 2023, in his hometown. He was born on January 2, 1965, in Indianapolis. Michael, also known as Mike, was a beloved husband, father, brother, and uncle.
Michael was a quiet and intelligent individual with a great sense of humor. He was known for his wit and compassionate nature. His friends and family remember him as someone who could always make them laugh. Michael had a deep love for puns, classic horror movies, and rare books. These hobbies brought him joy and allowed him to express his creativity.
In his professional life, Michael worked as a Research Librarian at The Art Institute. He had a passion for knowledge and enjoyed helping others discover new information. Michael's dedication to his career made a significant impact on those he worked with.
Michael leaves behind his loving wife, Kathleen (Austill) Piper, their son, Evan Michael Piper, and his sisters, Bobbi Piper and Teresa Piper. He was preceded in death by his father, George Curtis Piper, his mother, Barbara Jean (Bullard) Piper, his niece, Tanya Isaac, and his nephew, Matthew Fulmer. Michael also had a close relationship with his aunt, Debbie Bullard.
A memorial service to celebrate Michael's life will be held on August 19th at Speedway United Methodist Church in the Fellowship Hall 1pm -4pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to diabetes research, a cause that was important to Michael.
Michael Andrew Piper will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He will forever be remembered for his humor, intelligence, and compassion. May his soul rest in peace.
