Obituary of Mary Ann "Babe" Williams

Mary Ann “Babe” Williams Mary Ann was born on April 22nd 1927 to Frank and Mary Ann (Komlance) Kocjan. Her dream was to become an ophthalmologist, but that changed when she met a handsome sailor named George Williams. His dream was to open a Bait and Tackle shop, so that’s when her dream of becoming an ophthalmologist was traded for counting worms, seining minnows and running crawdads, fishing and hunting. They had a successful business for 33 years up to the time of George’s death. Together they enjoyed polka dancing, even following these bands to many states, on cruise ships, to 3 foreign countries and even on a plane. Mary Ann was very proud of her Slovenian heritage and enjoyed making traditional Slovenian dishes. She was a member of the Slovenian National Home, KSKJ, SNPJ and St. Joe’s lodges. Her whole life she went to Holy Trinity Catholic Church till it’s closing. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband George. She is survived by her loving children Marilyn (Robert) Miller, Paul (Cindy) Williams, granddaughter Stephanie M. Williams, great-grandchildren Tyler J B-Williams and Vada K. Williams, her sister-in-law Lillian Lynch, one niece, several step-grandchildren and great grandchildren, many cousins and friends. She will be missed by all. Mom and Dad may you hold each other close, dance among the stars, shine like a diamond, until we meet again. Donations in honor of Mary Ann can be made to your favorite charity.
