Obituary of Faye Sain

Theresa Melba “Faye” Martinez Sain Indianapolis, IN – On September 4, 2022, Faye M. Sain passed at her home with her family by her side. Faye was born in Iberville Parish, Louisiana, July 30, 1931. Family and friends are invited to Stevens Mortuary (5520 W 10th St, Indianapolis, IN 46224) on Thursday, September 8, from 4:00 to 8:00 for visitation with recitation of the rosary from 7:30 to 8:00 pm. Funeral will be Friday, September 9, 2022, 11:00 am at St. Christopher Catholic Church in Speedway, Indiana. Burial will be at West Ridge Park Cemetery. Faye was a loving, devoted wife, and best friend to her husband Thomas T. Sain. She was a loving mother of three children; Nancy (Larry) Tidd, Patricia Fox (Charles McIntyre); and T. Gregory (Lawanna) Sain. She is survived by her husband Tom of 71 years of marriage, her three children, 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters and brothers; Phyllis Guysinger, Tutti Jumonville, Butch Martinez, and Timmy Martinez. She is proceeded in death by her father: Louis “Coon” Martinez and her mother, Nettie Martinez Thoele; brothers and sisters; Loyce Ramagos, Alvin Ritter, Rudy Ritter, Marie Thoele Dennis, Phillip Theole, Carol Bourgeois, Calvin Lorio, Bert Lorio; and grandson Stevie Smith Sain. In addition, Faye and Tom formed many lifelong friendships with neighbors and colleagues, many lasting over 50 years. Faye worked as a bookkeeper for 20 years for Dixon Tom-a-Toe before retiring in 1991. Most importantly, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great- great grandmother, and sister. In their 71 years of marriage, Tom and Faye made homes in New Orleans, LA, Indianapolis, IN, Perrine, FL, West Palm Beach, FL, then back to Perrine, FL and New Orleans, LA before returning to Indianapolis, IN in 1971. They have been members of St. Christopher Church for 51 years. Faye had a special love for dogs, especially her grand dogs. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local Humane Society.
