Obituary of Paula Batten

Paula Sue Batten, 71, of Indianapolis passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2021. She was born in Lebanon, IN to Paul Richard and Charlotte Mae (McDaniel) List on February 27, 1950. Paula graduated from Pike High School. She worked as a bookkeeper for several organizations and retired as a bookkeeper from Hoosier Penn Oil in 2012. Her favorite job was being the cafeteria manager for Lebanon High School, she loved being around the kids and cooking. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting and doing various other crafts. Paula loved cooking and baking. Her famous chocolate chip cookies were loved by everyone. Paula also enjoyed traveling with her husband, family and friends. Her greatest love was her family, she was a devoted wife, mom, grandma and sister. Paula was truly loved by everyone who met her. She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Franklin E. Batten; son, Cris (Andee) Mabbitt; daughter, Jill (Jeff) Velikan; grandson, Devin Mabbitt; granddaughters, Rachel Mabbitt, Josie Velikan and Sophie Velikan; brother, Allen (Becky) List; sisters, Rose Marie (Don) Stutler, Patty Andrews and Cathie (Michael) Britton; and many nieces and nephews and their families. A Celebration of Life will be held from 12:00 PM until 6:00 PM on February 26, 2022 at Ellis Park Train Station 600 E. Main Street Danville, IN 46122.
