Ryan Boaz Faulkner was born on November 17, 1991 to Floyd and Naomi Faulkner in Beech Grove, IN and gained his wings on April 14, 2021 at 29 years old. He was the baby of six children and was so very loved, adored and doted on by his parents and each of his older siblings. Even as a young boy, he always tried to show how strong and unique he was, often to get a laugh out of his parents, his siblings and his many, many cousins. He never seemed to know a stranger, and became close friends with people of various backgrounds, cultures and status all throughout his life. He often was the familiar, welcoming face in a crowd to help anyone near him feel comfortable no matter where they were. He loved to play basketball and soccer with friends, and he excelled in school, graduating 6 months early. Although he had no children of his own, he loved all 14 of his nieces and nephews, and often was found playing with them or getting them to laugh at family gatherings. He was so proud to finally be a Godfather to his niece Karma when he was 19 years old after asking for 3 years for that honor. He worked in various construction fields most of his adulthood and dreamed of having his own handyman service. He used his big heart and capable hands to help many family members and friends with their home improvement projects over the years. His strength, his smile and his compassion are so deeply missed by all who loved him and were blessed to know him.
Ryan is survived by his parents, Floyd Leon and Naomi Ruth Faulkner, his brothers Rusty Faulkner and Scott Faulkner, his sisters Cassandra Faulkner and Samantha Faulkner Gonzalez, his grandmother Lucille Faulkner, 14 nieces and nephews, as well as dozens of uncles, aunts and cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Edward and Jesse Gay and Ronald Faulkner, his brother Steven Daniel Wood and his cousin Nathan Jones.
Ryan’s life will be celebrated on Friday, April 23, 2021 at Steven’s Mortuary located at 5520 W. 10th St. Indianapolis, IN 46224. Public visitation will be held from 1-3pm with a private service for close family and friends commencing at 3 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donation be made to Good News Ministries at 2716 E Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46201.
