Obituary of Robert Graper
Robert Graper, 89, of Lake Placid, FL, formerly of Danville, IN, passed away at his home on April 6, 2021. Robert was born November 10, 1931 in Princeton, Indiana to Fred Erich and Greeba Miller Graper.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra, four daughters: Sara Folmer, Jennifer Clark (Tom), Wendy Graper, and Janis Graper Hassan (Mushtak), five grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Hans, and daughter, Robina.
Robert was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving during the Korean Conflict, with most of his service being at Andrews Air Force Base near Washington, D.C. After his honorable discharge, Robert attended Evansville College (University), where he met and married his wife, Sandra Gaines. Graduating in 1959, they were celebrated and made headlines as the college's first married couple to graduate Magna cum Laude.
Robert joined Eli Lilly and Co., Indianapolis in 1959. Where he served for 36 years, holding many positions in the U.S. and abroad. He prayed to be obedient to the Lord and a good steward. His last position was that of Director of Investor Relations, through which he made many friends and influenced people, as he responsibly fulfilled his position as Lilly’s link with Wall Street.
He was a member of Lakeview Church, Indpls., Indiana from 1979 to present, where he served as a deacon and was his class leader for the last quarter of a century.
Robert was a man of integrity-humble, and honored God in all his ways. He dedicated his life to our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ; firstly, to Him, then to his wife and family, his work, his friends and associates, and his country.
