Obituary of Helen Lorraine Lambert

Helen Lorraine Lawson Lambert, age 80, passed away on February 27th, 2021. She was born on August 18th, 1940 to Milam and Maudie Lawson in Blackwater, Virginia. She was married to the love of her life, Sidney Lambert for nearly 64 years before he was called home to be with our heavenly father Jesus Christ. They were married September 21st, 1956. Lorraine and Sidney had two sons, Randy and Jeff. Randy is married to Terri Cobb Lambert, Jeff is married to Sherrie Boller Lambert. Lorraine and Sidney had three grandchildren. Scott Lambert (wife Carrie), Jessica Lambert Marshall (husband Matt), and Sydney Lambert Ross (husband Jeremy). She had two great-granddaughters, Skylar and Sawyer Ross. Lorraine was an only child but she found 10 brothers and sisters once she was married into the Lambert family. She loved each one of them like any sister would. Lorraine worked at different custom framing and art restoration studios over the years. Her fondest memories were being with Lyman Brothers in downtown Indianapolis. She continued to do this work for close friends for many years after her retirement. She was able to spot and restore valuable art pieces from estate sales, garage sales, and flea markets. She was a very talented craftsman. Lorraine was such a dedicated caregiver, always putting the care of her loved ones first; Caring for her mother, and then for her father, and lastly for her beloved husband Sidney. She was with him every day, almost all day, and many nights during his 11 year nursing home stay. Theirs was a love story. Her devotion and a love so strong and so deep for her husband Sidney was eternal. Lorraine had many friends at the nursing home and thoroughly enjoyed Sunday church services there. She was proud of her sons, her grandchildren, and in recent weeks she was able to spend precious time with her two young great-granddaughters. She was greeted by them every morning. They called her Granny-Granny. “Good mornin’ Granny-Granny” they’d say. They brought her love and sunshine each day. On the weekends all she would talk about was looking forward to Monday so she could see her babies. The three of them got to know one another in a way that brought out joy, giggles, and sweet nick names. Memories were made and never to be forgotten. There were days Lorraine enjoyed being read to, this became one of her favorites. Revelation 21:1-5 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true." Lorraine will be heart wrenchingly missed. Not long ago Lorraine told her beloved Sidney that she would see him soon and now she walks with God to a perfect peace to meet him. A joy forever new.
