Doris Ann McCormick of Plainfield, Indiana, age 93, passed from this life on January 2, 2021. Born to Otto and Victoria (Hlubek) Meaden in Slayton, Minnesota, 1-20-1927. She married Alfred McCormick of Iona, Minnesota on August 28, 1949. Mother to Kathryn, Thomas, David, Lynn, Patrick and Kevin. She was predeceased by husband Alfred, son David, daughter Lynn (Thom) Knudson, three sisters and four brothers. She is survived by children Kathryn (Robin) Weber, Thomas (Wanda) McCormick, Patrick (Jasmine) McCormick, Kevin (Traci) McCormick and grandchildren Bryanna Freeman, Kayla McCormick, Abbie McCormick, Rachel McCormick, Ian McCormick, four great grandchildren, brother Donald Meaden and loving devoted caregiver Tiffany Boskett. Doris will be lovingly remembered as a caring and generous wife, mother and friend, with an ever-ready smile. She and Al cherished their many retirement years traveling around the world. She was quite crafty creating needlepoint, crocheted items, and ceramics that she shared with friends and family. She volunteered in various roles, and enjoyed playing cards, reading, crosswords, word-search, and watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. Most of all, she loved being with her children and grandchildren. Though her passing saddens us all, she lived a full and fruitful life knowing she was loved and appreciated. The family requests in lieu of flowers, that donations be made in memory of Doris and Al McCormick to their beloved St. Christopher Parish, 5301 W. 16th St., Speedway, IN 46224. Services will be held at St Christopher Catholic Church on Thursday January 14 at 11am Eastern.
