Obituary of Bernard LaMont Overstreet
Bernard “Bernie” Lamont Overstreet Jr., 75 of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away peacefully on, October 15, 2020, due to his long battle with chronic illness.
Bernie was a graduate of George Washington High School and went on to serve in the U.S. Navy throughout the Vietnam War where he earned several medals of honor. Some of his favorite hobbies were fishing, gardening and enjoying time with his family and pets.
He was a kind, loving father to his daughter Kathleen and devoted, loving husband to his wife Bobbie. He was well respected within his community and known to his family as caring and devoted.
He is survived by his wife Roberta (Bobbie Stuckey) Overstreet, daughter Kathleen (Dan) Mitscher, and devoted canine companion, Little Boy. Additionally, he is survived by granddaughters, a great granddaughter, as well as nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Bernard Sr. and Mary (Bertalon) Overstreet, his sisters Angela and Susan, and his brother Nathan “Sonny”.
Bernie wishes to spend eternity among the beauty of our land; his ashes will be spread at a later date.
