Obituary of Makiah L. Nugent
Makiah Lynn Nugent, 16, of Indianapolis, IN passed away on October 9, 2020. Makiah was born in Indianapolis to Alex Nugent and Carrie Beth Manion on February 12, 2004. Makiah was attending Ben Davis University. She was previously employed by McDonald’s Corporation and most recently Domino’s Pizza.
Makiah LOVED life, she was bright, funny, and the kind of kid that everyone wanted to be friends with. She was a competitor. Makiah played softball for 7 years, excelling at catcher. Boy could she hit the ball. She loved swimming, camping; just about anything outdoors. She was very active posting videos on TikTok and always taking pictures and making memories. She absolutely LOVED animals. It didn’t matter what kind. She had a duck named “Pickles”, a cat named “Kyle”, a dog named “Roxee”, and she would bring any stray home. She had one of the strongest constitutions ever seen; but if you wanted to see her cry; just turn on an ASPCA commercial… she loved animals like people. When Makiah walked into a room, she lit up that room. She was the life of the party. She made people happy. She made people smile
Makiah is surviced by her parents, Alex Nugent and Carrie Beth Manion; step-father, Keith Yancey; brothers Zaedyn Brooks and Desmond Yancey; maternal grandparents, Robert and Lynette Cox; paternal grandparents, Darrell and Joy Nugent; aunts and uncles, Leah and Jeremy Ping, Amos and Kristi Priddy, Beth Cox, Kristi Priddy, Nicole Spann, Dan Cox, John Cox, Dave Cox, Brandt Cox, Matthew Cox and Robert Cox; cousins, Gavin Ping, Nora Ping, Jackson Ping, Nicolas Priddy, Ian Priddy, Taylor Priddy, Brandon Priddy, Deseree Spann, Hailey Spann, and Alajah Stegmeier .
