Condolences
I lost track of Larry after I left Indiana in the blizzard of 78. We were members at the Speedway 500 American Legion. I am going way back. Use to have a guy whose last name was Nash. We all would go to blue grass festival's.
We will have another brew one of these days. I'll find some of those pictures
I have known Larry since we were in first grade in St John School in Loogootee. One summer night when we were home from college, he introduced me to the incomparable jazz guitar music of Wes Montgomery. We didn't keep in touch after college and I knew little about his subsequent life. But I remember that he kindly came to the funeral of my Uncle Bill, for whom Larry worked at the Ritz Theater.
Happily, in summer of 2015, at a party the night before our 50th high school graduation celebration, Larry offered me a beer, which I accepted, and we went to a quiet area and spent a long time catching up. I think back now on that conversation very fondly.
He was a smart, gentle, quiet, confident, and kind individual. I didn't know his life partner Kathy and I haven't spoken with his siblings since we were kids. But I offer my condolences and hope that their good memories of Larry bring them solace.
He truly blessed the Morrell home in Amarillo Texas during his time there in the Air Force. Have so many happy memories of those days. I was in high school then, so he immediately became my big brother. He as well as at least 2 others would grill my dates before I could leave. Loved him greatly, and will truly miss him.
