John I. Derebeef, 83, of Indianapolis, IN passed away on August 13, 2020. John was born in Drabishna Village, a municipality of Ivaylovgrad, in Haskovo Province, in southern Bulgaria to Kostadin and Mata (Taralingova) Derebeef. John was a master jeweler having worked thirty-five years for Herff Jones an American company that manufactures and sells educational recognition and achievement jewelry. He especially enjoyed gardening and loved to spend quality time with his family. John was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather that was loved by many and will be missed by all. John is preceded in death by his parents; and in 2007 his loving wife of 49 years, Hilda J. (Eller) Derebeef; he is survived by his sons, Mark (Patricia) Derebeef, Rick Edwards (Lisa) Derebeef, and William (Susan) Derebeef; daughters, Marta Derebeef and Christine (David) Derebeef Weaver; and twenty-four grandchildren.
