Obituary of Charles Hamlett
Charles Murrell Hamlett, 81, of Cincinnati, OH passed away on July 7, 2020. Charles was born in Oneida, TN on March 23, 1939 to Ernest and Elsie Hamlett.
Charles was a journeyman painter and spent most of his career working for General Motors, retiring from Allison Transmission in 2004. He served honorably, bravely and proudly in the US ARMY, 3rd Division and was stationed in Ft. Polk, LA. He was honorably discharged after two years of service. Charles was a Master Mason, affiliated with Melrose Lodge, No. 671 in Norwood, OH. He was an avid dog lover his entire life and always had a dog by his side since the time he was three years old.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents, and daughter Robin Stromberg. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 59 years, Carolyn L. Hamlett; son Steve Hamlett; daughter Rhonda Yaden; grandchildren Tyler Renner, Brandon Renner, Grant Yaden, Ross Yaden, Brent Yaden, Mason Hamlett, Brynn Hamlett, Chase Hamlett; and one great-grandson Hunter Renner.
A private service for the family will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2020. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to their local ASPCA in honor of Charles Hamlett.
