Obituary of Philip Eugene Grove
Philip “Flop” Eugene Grove, 56, of Cloverdale, passed away Thursday June 25, 2020 while in the comfort of his new home , surrounded by his family.
Flop was preceded in death by his father, Paul Grove, his Aunt Sharon McFarland, Grandparents Earl & Glenola Grove, Doris P. Stattner and John McFarland.
He is survived by his mother Coweta Patton, wife Jayne Grove, brother Dennis Whitaker (Karen) and his children Joey (Cristle), Ashley (Austin), Emily (Ray), Nick (Amber) and Vanessa (Danny). He was a proud Papaw to 12 grandchildren, Alex, Kaleb, Myles, Levi, Adalynn, Brooklynn, Mason, Hunter, Briana, Kason, Danica and Jillian. His niece Hilary and nephew Justin.
Flop was born September 29, 1963 in Greencastle, IN to Paul and Coweta Grove (Patton). He graduated from Life Way Christian School in 1982. Flop was a dedicated Volunteer Firefighter in Cloverdale, and just retired after 35 years of working at Lone Star (Buzzi). Flop enjoyed the little things in life, canoeing, camping, NASCAR (#3), and country music. But most of all, Flop loved spending time with his family, grandkids, and his mother. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.
A “Celebration of Life” will be held on Thursday July 2, 2020 at Soul Harvest Church in Cloverdale from 4:00pm to 8:00pm.
