Obituary of Robert Worden

Robert James Worden, born March 7, 1968 and lifelong resident of Indianapolis, died after a brief illness on May 12, 2020. Bobby will be lovingly remembered by his parents, Carolyn Davis, Steven (Terry) Worden, and step-father Emerson Davis; his children, Riley and Zachary Worden; his siblings, Christina Stricker, Emerson (Erin) Davis, Angie (Ryan) Rizzo, Joe (Stephanie Martin) Worden, Jodi (Mike) Denton, Melissa Worden, Megan (Jim Key) Edelson, Amy (Bryan) Jones and numerous aunts, uncles an cousins. Bobby raced into the world on March 7, 1968. He attended Saint Roch Catholic School and Roncalli High School (‘86). He was a member of the CWA and worked for AT&T. The greatest joy in Bobby’s life were his children, and he delighted in the fact that they both followed in his footsteps by attending Ball State University. Bob was a true Hoosier through and through. He was a huge fan of the Indiana Pacers, the Indianapolis Colts, Notre Dame football, and most of all, the Indy 500. In fact, it was not uncommon for Bobby to take the entire month of May off of work just to be at the track. Bobby’s second favorite place to be was at the “farm” with his lifelong friends and their families. His love for music was evident, and his ability to care and connect with his family and friends were unmatched. We will miss his stories, his phone calls, but above all, his laugh. Bobby is preceded in death by his grandparents; James and Rita Worden, Bob and Louise Collins, and Clifford Brown; brother, Zachary Davis; nephew, Chandler Stricker, and several cousins. Please honor Bobby by reaching out to an old friend or family member. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you consider making a donation to the David S Moore Food Pantry or Saint Roch Catholic School.
