Obituary
Obituary of Judith Hardesty
Judith Hardesty, 72, of Indianapolis, IN passed away on May 12, 2020. She was born in Indianapolis, in 1947 to Charles L. and Eudora Burkert, both preceding her in death. After graduation from Carmel High School in 1965 she attended Indiana Business College and began her working career as a booking agent secretary for Columbia Pictures. She interrupted her working career in 1972 with the birth of her first child. During her children’s school years she was always willing to volunteer her time; becoming a Cheerleading sponsor at their grade school and active in the Parents Club during their high school years. Resuming her working career, she worked part time for Lifetouch Studios and then began a 20+ year career at J.C. Penny, retiring in 2012. After retiring her happiest moments were spending time with her grandchildren and attending their school and sporting events. She will be dearly missed by her husband, family and friends and all those whom she touched in her life. She was a member of the American Legion Post 500 Ladies Auxiliary. Memorial Contributions may be made in Judith’s memory to the American Cancer Society. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Russell Hardesty; sisters Sandra (Robert) Owens, Pamela Foster; brother Charles (Mary Lynn) Burkert; son Jeffrey Hardesty; daughter Marlene (Darrell) DAmato; grandchildren Haley Hardesty, Ashley Hardesty, Devin DAmato and Darrin DAmato; five nephews and two nieces. A Celebration of Life event will be announced at a later date.
