Obituary of Charles F. Crane
Charles Frank Crane, 73 of Speedway, IN Feb. 26, 1947 – March 6, 2020
Charles peacefully passed away at home surrounded by family after battling cancer. Charles was born in Indianapolis, IN on Feb. 26, 1947 to George Talamdge and Elsie Jane (Stump) Crane.
After attending George Washington High School and Purdue University Charles began working as an industrial engineer for Diamond Chain Company where he retired from.
In his younger days Charles enjoyed playing golf, bowling, basketball, being at the racetrack and water fights with family and friends. Charles was very well known in his hometown of Speedway; from attending every homecoming, volunteering, especially to the high school boys’ and girls’ soccer team. Charles loved model trains and was a member of the Speedway Train Club and Morgan County Railroad Club.
Charles was proceeded in death by his parents Tom and Janie Crane, maternal and paternal grandparents, mother and father in law (Frank and Betty), and nephew Christopher Crane. Charles leaves behind his wife of 43 years Denise (Brooking) Crane, daughters Michele (Casey), Shanon, Tiffany (Marc), son Charles “Phil” (Mallery). Grandchildren Corienda (Eric), Logan, Ashlyne, Nicholas (Morgan), Riley, Hailey, Mason, Jacey, and Brooklyn. Great grandchildren Isaac, Lucas, and Emmie. Siblings David (Becky), Diane Smith (Craig), Paul (Kathy), and Susan Stephenson (Bruce), 11 brother and sister in laws, many nieces, and nephews as well as his bonus families, Cindy Jenkins, Jonathan and Kaitlyn Jenkins and family Jessi Warren (Aubree and Brantley).
