Obituary of Mary Louise Goddard

Mary Louise Goddard, 89, of Indianapolis passed away on February 10, 2020. She was born April 12, 1930 to Charles and Anna Knarzer. Her siblings Joseph, Harold, Delores, Pauline and Eleanor all preceded her in death; as well as her daughter, Linda Fleck and son, Edward. Louise is survived by her husband of 69 years, Earl. She is also survived by her children David (Jeri), Elaine Staton (Bob), Kevin (Kathy), Richard (Cindy), Laurie Nelms (Dale) and Timothy (Emily) and her son-in-law Joseph Fleck. She was blessed with 18 grandchildren: Niki, Jessica, Brad, Amber, Brandon Traci, Matt, Jenny, Jeff, Jay, Evan, Kraig, Erik, Ryan, Jordan, Hannah, Eli and Ethan and 8 great-grandchildren: Micha, Lydia, Owen, Sam, Quentin, Lily, Maggy and Jacob. Louise enjoyed sewing, carrying on the tradition her mother started by making quilts for her children and grandchildren. Her catholic faith was very important to her and she devoted time to ministries like volunteering at St. Vincent de Paul, preparing food for mercy meals, volunteering at the annual St. Christopher festival and providing wrapped Christmas gifts to mental health facility. Her career included working at her brother Harold’s pharmacy, switchboard operator at Mallory’s, babysitting in her home, sales clerk at Turn Style and retail associate for 12 years at Kohl’s Department Store. In memory of Mary the family is requesting that donations be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF.org) or Alzheimer's Association (alz.org).
