Obituary of William Sullivan
William Michael (Mike) Sullivan, was born January 19, 1943 to William J. Sullivan and Thelma I. Sullivan. William was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church in Speedway, Indiana. William actively served in the United States Air Force (1960-1964) and was honorably discharged from the 70th Field Maintenance Squadron (SAC). William was employed as an Air Traffic Controller in Indianapolis, IN; Flight Instructor and Aircraft Mechanic at Brown Flying School in Terre Haute, Indiana; Air Traffic Instructor in Oklahoma City, OK at ATC Academy.
William enjoyed cooking and grilling out, going to the beach, scuba diving, airplanes, model airplanes, watching grandchildren and seeing their games and activities.
Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother will be greatly missed. His 76 years were filled with love, adventures, and making memories with his family. While he struggled the last four years, 8 months, 6 days in his journey with pancreatic cancer, he was able to see and do so much – trips to Florida, weddings, births of a grandchild and great-grandchildren, family cookouts, Disney World, Las Vegas for his 50th wedding anniversary, the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500, watching college football, and many other memories we hold close to our hearts. He didn’t let his cancer diagnosis define him or limit him. He was a pillar of strength and lived his life courageously and fully as a devout Catholic.
William departed this earthly life on September 09, 2019. He leaves to cherish his memory, wife, Connie Sue Sullivan; son, Stephen (Jessica) Sullivan; daughters, Stefanie (Jeff) Trammell and Stacy (JC) Sullivan Carroll; brother, Joseph (Debbie) Sullivan; and sisters, Mary Kaye Fitzgerald and Carolyn(Martin) Sedlacko; grandchildren, Melanie(Nick) Obermeyer, Brett and Cassie Trammell, Kiley and Garrett Sullivan, and Griffin and Everett Carroll; great-grandchildren, Macklan and Kipton Obermeyer.
