Henry R. “RICK” Trauner, 83, of Plainfield, passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2019. He was born in Indianapolis, IN on August 1, 1935 to Henry and Ernestine (Zupan) Trauner. Rick married Margaret (Richison) Trauner. He served in the Navy.

Rick became a member of Slovenion National Home Association in 1953. He was also a member of Toastmasters, Union SNPJ, Holy Trinity Parish. He attended Holy Trinity Grade School and Cathedral High School.

He enjoyed watching westerns, bird watching and identifying trees. Mr. Trauner liked to go stroller pushing and exercising. Rick also liked light houses and  enjoyed couponing.

Rick is survived by his wife of 47 years, Margaret Trauner; Sons, Dave Trauner of Fillmore, Alan Trauner of Bloomington; daughter Soraya Trauner of Plainfield; sister, Anne Marie Lindstrom of Longview, WA; brother, Ron Trauner of San Francisco, CA; granddaughters, Crystal Trauner of Tennessee, Abbie Trauner of Phoenix, AZ, Faith Fox of Portland, OR, Jessie Trauner of San Diego, CA; and grandson, Brent Trauner of Muncie. He was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Ernastine Trauner.

Rick was loved by all sincerely. He always knew everyone and their names, where they went to school, he knew kids, people at the bank, pharmacy, Meijer and doctor’s office. “Never met a stranger,” even though he was shy. He had a genuine smile.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Slovenian National Home, 2717 W 10TH Street, Indianapolis, IN 46222.
