Dear Barbara,
A little late. Still praying for Phil and you each day. So many good memories of both of you. Phil was always a pleasure to be around. A special smile and a soft calm voice always greeted you.
Will never forget him!
Love and prayers,
Ralph
Oh, Barb, I am so sorry that Phil has passed. I know how much you will miss him. I am also relieved for him that he no longer is suffering. I'm sorry I had to miss the service. I will see you soon. Love, Cindy.
To the Link Family: I was a new air traffic control trainee in 1982. Supervisor Link (Phil) was a supervisor that was in charge and the oversight of ensuring new controllers were able to live up to expected standards of the job. I appreciate Phil's demands, expectations and mentoring that enabled me to succeed! I am "Thankful" that he was there for me...and many additional 'trainees'.. to provide a safe service to all! God Bless You Phil and Thank You!
Barb and family,
We were saddened to hear the news of Phil's passing at church today. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. We have many wonderful memories of breakfast and dinners together, the conversations, and laughter. These memories we will treasure and hold dear to our hearts forever. God's peace and blessings to you and your family. We love you dearly.
Phil and Barbara let me crash their home for an entire summer one year while Greg and I were trying to take over Indy with our band. Phil was always kind and patient and a great father. He always had a smile and warm presence. You can see his legacy in the character of his children. God bless, Phil! I hope you and Greg are together again. :-)
Was saddened to hear about Phil's passing. I met and worked with Phil in 1966 at the Indy ARTCC until his retiring in 1988. I also lived just a few houses down the street from Phil and Barb for some time and always felt like there were no finer people ever to be met. May Phil rest in peace and my sincere condolences to Barb and family.
Barb and Cathy - So many memories I have that are too long to mention. Growing up on Carlsen Avenue and having my life long friend Cathy has been such a blessing to me. Remembering the fabulous neighborhood parties that were always so much fun and we always wanted to see the costumes that Barb and Phil would come up with. Riding bikes with Greg and Tom always bothering us and laughing at our neighborhood dance recitals and Phil always a part of the life that was Carlsen Avenue. Barb I simply just love you and Phil and have for so many years. I know that life will be different for you now but know God chose you to find your strength for just such a time as this! The legacy of your love for each other and the kindness and compassion always shown for others will live on in the hearts of so many. Over the years I have enjoyed some "conference" calls with you and Phil and the few times I have returned to Indy to visit you were always one of my favorite stops. May God's love and guidance be with you now as my prayers and a warm place for you in my heart will always be! I love you
I am honored to know the Link family through my friendship with his daughter Catherine who credits being a pilot to her father. Mr. and Mrs. Link also enjoyed travel to Hawaii. A fond memory for me is that Phil and I both enjoyed visiting the ABC Store when visiting Hawaii. The family would laugh at our enjoyment of going as its just like a CVS store here in the States.
He loves his family and they love their husband/father.
God Bless all of you.
Barb, Jim and I Are keeping you and your family in our thoughts and prayers. We were so blessed to be able to shares times with you both in our aqua aerobics class. At this time may you feel the loving arms of our Lord surrounding you. We never walk alone.
Love Jim and Gaynelle
Barb I was so sad and sorrowful to hear of Phil passing, he was a very humble
person and will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends. May God
give you and all your family the strength you need to get thru this time of
sorrow. I will keep you in my prayers.
My deepest sympathy to the family. I am Joanna Hess's oldest daughter. May Phillip rest in Peace
I was hired in 1982 as a controller trainee at Indianapolis Center. Mr. Link was a supervisor that mentored me and helped me become an Air Traffic Controller. Thank you Mr. Link for helping me with a rewarding career!
I had the pleasure of knowing Phil during my time as a controller. Phil was an outstanding man & a true gentleman. It was my good fortune to have known him.
He will be missed by all his friends & family.
God's grace & blessing on him.
Phil and I worked together at Indianapolis ARTCC for many years. I always respected Phil for his treatment of other people and myself. If there is a place in heaven waiting...Phil is there.
I was an air traffic control colleague of Phil for several years. I always admired him, his self-composure, sense of presence and projected confidence in all situations. He was always a gentleman and a pleasure to be around. Billie H. Vincent
Barb, Cathy & Tom,
So sorry about your loss. I have many great memories of our times spent with you & Phil. So happy I was a able to see you when I was back in July. Russ always said Phil was the nicest person he knew.
Love
Marty
I was so sorry to hear Phil had passed away,
What a GREAT person,
We worked 4 days a week with each other and I was always in awe how nice he treated other people,
His quite voice and manner was a reassurance to new controllers,
He and I had some great times together as supervisors, we had a lot of laughs,
To his family, how proud you must be of a great person, who always practiced what he preached.
My thoughts and prayers are with Barb, Cathy and Tom. Uncle Phil meant the world to me and I’m going to miss him. He rolemodeled how to be a strong Christian man, father and husband. I will be forever grateful and better off for Gods gift of allowing me to be his nephew. He’s in heaven with his son, together again. God bless and Rest In Peace.
