Obituary of William Franz Connors

It is with overwhelming sadness that the family of William “Billy” Connors announces his passing after a hard-fought battle with cancer, on Monday, June 4, 2018, at the age of 59 years. Billy is lovingly remembered by his wife Miriam, his daughter Sunshine (David), his mother Rose, his sister Kathy (Kurt), and his nieces Jourdan and Jess. Billy was predeceased by his father William K. Connors.

A funeral service in memory of Billy will be held on Tuesday June 12th at St. Christopher Catholic Church. The viewing will begin at noon, with a mass being held at 1:00PM. Billy will then be laid to rest at West Ridge Park Cemetery.

Those who so desire may make memorial donations in memory of William “Billy” Connors to Fisher House Foundation.

Billy was a beloved husband, son, father, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a mechanical engineer and a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, where he specialized in Search and Rescue.

Billy was brave, intelligent, funny, and kind. He loved to ski, to play sports, and to ride motorcycles. He also enjoyed anything outdoors and a good fixer upper project. Billy never stopped traveling the world in search of his next great adventure. He was an explorer and a seeker who made a home for himself all over the world – Austria, Germany, Italy, Indianapolis, Seattle, Galveston, TX, the Philippines, and West Palm Beach, FL, to name a few.

When his family or friends had a big project, a crazy idea, or a problem that needed solving, Billy was always quick to help. He built many pool decks, poured concrete for driveways, repaired ailing cars, taught friends to drive…the list goes on. Billy was caring and sentimental, always showing up to aid his loved ones. He made time for the people in his life and showed his love through his generous and thoughtful spirit. Billy’s legacy lives on through the numerous lives he touched all over the world.

His family and friends are heartbroken over their great loss but will honor Billy by living life to the fullest, just as he did – exploring the world, spreading kindness, helping others, and enjoying the small and beautiful moments life has to offer.
