Condolences
Kathy and I were best buds at GWHS!
I had no idea she had passed away in ‘17.
Condolences to family and friends.
Blessed be!
Kathy was my best friend at IPS#44. I lived on Montcalm and she moved from Montcalm to Gent Avenue. However, we lost touch during high school. She had moved to 16th Street and we weren't in close proximity and had no classes together. While Kathy was at Ft. Slocum in 1964, she wrote a beautiful letter to my mother. She had learned I was pregnant with my first child, Steve, who was born December 5, 1964. My mother forgot to tell me about this letter until many months later. We had no contact until just a few years ago. I had experienced kidney failure and began thinking a lot about Kathy. I Googled her name, found her phone number and address, and sent her a Christmas card with my phone number. A little while later Kathy called me and we had a wonderful conversation. We exchanged cards every year after that but never had another chat or visit. I didn't receive a card in 2017. I will forever regret not making more of an effort to see Kathy again.
I worked with Cathy for several years at Indiana Spine Group. She was a delightful, soft spoken woman with a kind heart and contagious laughter. We shared a love for German food and she was very generous with her wonderful recipes, which I continue to use.
