Obituary of Rose Petercheff

~~Rose Petercheff, 95, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully December 2, 2017. She was married to Carl Petercheff who preceded her in death. She is survived by her son Michael (Rita) Petercheff, daughter Beverly (Kevin) Smith grandchildren, Christina (Adam) Young, David (Lauren) Petercheff, Jake Petercheff and Stephanie Smith and three great grandchildren Alex and Della Young and Annabelle Petercheff and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Rose was born and raised in Indianapolis. Her parents Dimitri and Katherine
Christoff came to the United States as Macedonian immigrants in the late 1910’s.   Rose cherished her Orthodox faith and her church family at St. Stephen’s Eastern Orthodox Church. She graduated from Washington High School in 1942.

Rose worked as an administrative assistant for over 25 years in the Marion County Probation Court in Indianapolis where she later retired. She also held other administrative jobs at Pioneer Title Company, Indiana Bell and Commercial Credit.  She was a skilled typist and detailed orientated.

Rose attended and was a member of St. Stephen’s Eastern Orthodox Church, Indianapolis, IN. for over 75 years. She held various leadership roles at St. Stephen’s including President of the Sisterhood, Bake Sale Chairperson, Sunday School teacher and Elder for the Church board.  She loved her St. Stephen’s church family.

In her spare time Rose enjoyed ethnic dancing, arts and crafts, meeting girlfriends and co-workers or lunch, family dinners and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Stevens Mortuary Indianapolis. Viewing will be held on Friday, December 8, 2017 from 4 to 7 p.m. at St. Stephen’s Eastern Orthodox Church, 1435 N. Medford Ave, Indianapolis, IN  46222. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 9th beginning with viewing from 10 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m.
