Obituary of MaryAnn Davis

MaryAnn Davis, 73, of Indianapolis, IN passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 26, 2017. She was born on March 13, 1944 to the late Albert Stephen Qualitza and Vera Ida Qualitza. MaryAnn graduated from George Washington High School in 1963. She met her husband Charles Lauren Davis when she was just 15 years old. The day she met him she said to her friend "I like him so much I think I'm gonna marry him." Lauren trailed MaryAnn all over on the handle bars of his bicycle. On June 5, 1965 they married. On December 19, 1966 they had their Daughter, Melynda Kaye. Then on February 2, 1970 they had their son Danny Lauren. The couple loved traveling on their Harley Davidson including riding to Sturgis five times. The family of four even travelled from Indianapolis to Florida by motorcycle and sidecar. Later when MaryAnn was put on oxygen they decided they weren't going to let that stop them so MaryAnn strapped on her portable oxygen and off they went for a ride on their Harley or scooter they so much enjoyed riding.
MaryAnn worked as a Customer Service Supervisor for SMC pneumatics where she later retired from. She also enjoyed gardening, shopping at a Meijer, Kohl's, and CVS and spending time with Family and Friends (most of which she had made a fleece tie blanket for at one point or another). MaryAnn is survived by her beloved husband Charles Lauren Davis, Her Daughter, Melynda Davis; son, Danny (Lanita) Davis; sisters, Edie (Dave) Swenby and Sandy (Dan) Ferguson; Granddaughters, Ashley (Robert) Amick, Brittany Davis, Aren (Ron) Newport, and Bailey (Scott) Porter, and Grandsons, Josh (Abbi) Davis, Eric Davis, and Preston Porter; Great Granddaughters, Gwen Davis and Aurora Davis; and Great Grandson, Linkin Davis, many nieces and nephews, and dear Friends as well as their beloved dog Suger.
A Memorial Service in her honor will be held at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Stevens Mortuary 5520 W. 10th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46224 with visitation beginning at 4pm until time of Service.
