Obituary of Rose Maxine Haag
Maxine (Hopkins) Haag, 90, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on November 6, 2017. Maxine was born in Washington, Indiana and moved to St. Mary’s Loogootee , Indiana at the age of six. She went to St. Mary’s school until the fourth grade when she then attended Cannelburg and Montgomery High School graduating in April 1946. She moved to Indianapolis following graduation and worked at Eli Lilly & Company from 1946 until 1951. She married Robert (Bob) E. Haag on June 24, 1950. The two build their lives in Indianapolis with their family and business, Haag Trucking. She and Bob had four children, Nancy, Mark (Marilyn), Gordon (Cathy) and Norma. All of her children attended Catholic schools including St. Michael’s the Archangel, Ladywood St. Agnes, and Brebeuf. She spent her life taking care of her family which grew to sixteen grandchildren and lots of great-grandchildren. Maxine loved playing cards, cooking, gardening, bowling and time with family. Maxine was proceeded in death by her parents Ernest and Lora (Kidwell) Hopkins, her husband Bob and two siblings. She is survived by a sister, four children, sixteen grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Mary of the Woods or a charity of choice. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Stevens Mortuary 5520 W. 10th St., Indpls., with a rosary at 12:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, November 11, 2017 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church 3354 W. 30th Street. Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
