Obituary of Eddie Eugene Long

Eddie Eugene Long, 83, of Indianapolis passed away on October 3, 2017. He was born in Burkesville, KY on June 8, 1934 to Carlie C. and Iva L. (Stoops) Long. Eddie’s first job was with Tastee Bakery when he moved to Indianapolis, he later went on to work for General Motors, where he retired in 1996. Eddie loved decorating his home for Christmas and people from miles around would come to see and enjoy his decorations. He was an avid race fan and attended the Indy 500 annually for the past 50 years, he never missed a race. He loved to work in his yard and he was a great gardener, having a huge garden of fruits and vegetables. He also enjoyed boating, fishing and hunting. He was a great Dad and family man and adored the quality time spent with them. Eddie is preceded in death by his parents; son, Terry Milam; and seven brothers and sisters. He is survived by his children; Cathy Nutter, Eddie Long, Jerry Long, Elana Flanigan, Melinda Milam, Todd Milam, Chris Milam; eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
