Obituary of William S. Wancik Sr.
William S. Wancik Sr., 78, of Indianapolis passed away peacefully at home on April 28, 2017. William was born in Newark, NJ on December 13, 1938 to William Wancik and Regina Freedley. William proudly served his country in the United States Navy on the U.S.S. Saratoga. William was self-employed and the owner and operator of B.W. Tile. He was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church. He was a huge fan of the Indianapolis Colts; he loved bowling, gardening, cooking and calligraphy. He was the very font of what a gentleman should be. Your traditional Italian-Polish sweetheart charm and heart. He will be sorely missed by many and especially his beloved family.
William is preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife of 52 years, Janette A. Wancik in 2008; son, Michael Wancik; step-fathers, Robert Coppola and Frank Diskin. He is survived by his daughter, Terri (Mike) Silence; sister, Ann Whelan; brother, Arthur Coppola; granddaughters, Kristin (Zac) Jones, Heather (Cameron) Wolf, Erika (Kenneth) Weber and Paige (Zak) Shields; great grandchildren, Landon and Lyla Jones, Ryder and Jax Rezentes, Saylor Wolf.
