I knew And liked my cousin Bill since I was a little boy. I was fascinated by his magic tricks. Later I came to realize he was so much more than magic. He knew so much about any thing he came in contact with. At 13 he gave me a cacoon that morphed into a Samia Cecropia. A beautiful huge moth! I came to love Bill as the brother I never had!
I am the territorial vice president of the International Brotherhood of Magicians for Indiana. As a representative of the organization that Bill was a member of, we send our heartfelt wishes to the family at this time of great loss. Bill was a joy to be with, and his magic entertained many people. I have submitted his name and obit to the "Linking Ring Magazine" who will honor him as one of our deceased members. Warm Wishes to the whole family!
My heart is aching for all of you. I know that my childhood was made so much richer by having crossed paths with Bill. He brought energy and life and creativity to everything he touched. I can find constellations - I know that magic can be found in unexpected places. Bill never discounted children's perspective. I remember when he was teaching our confirmation class, we had a long discussion about baptism. He explained the symbolism of the sacrament and the class decided that we all wanted to be baptized the same way Jesus was....immersion. We were Methodist and this was not the normal route. Parents were a little taken back, but Bill figured a way to borrow the baptismal pool at a local Baptist church one afternoon and let us have that experience. He did not see barriers - but possibilities. The only casualty was his good gray suit! We were all so excited when he and Sue married. It was a proof that dreams do come true. Rest in Peace, Bill. Your mark on this world will shine on in everyone you touched.
Sorry to hear of the loss of you father. Your family is in our prayers. You will see him again someday,, Thanks to our Lord Jesus.
So sorry for your loss. We have many memories of Bill and your family when you were in Middletown. Our thoughts are with you all at this difficult time. May God give you all comfort and peace. Love Ross and Lynn
Our hearts and prayers are with you all. What a beautiful tribute to Uncle Bill. We loved the pictures in the video and the kids want to watch again and again! May he Rest In Peace. Love and hugs to you all. Wish we could be with you now...
We are so sorry to learn of your loss. We so enjoyed having all of you in the Valley View Court neighborhood and the friendship our kids shared with you. May God bless you and your whole family.
I'm so sorry for your loss and will pray for God to send comfort. What a special man of God Reverend Tresslar was (as we called him here in Middletown), you could see his love for life in every picture in the slide show.
Hugs for all, Lori and Steve Atkinson
Bill was a wonderful gem of a man. I knew him through the Bridwell IBM Ring in Nashville and recently reconnected with him when I returned to the Nashville magic club after several years away. Bill was a time traveler. I came in after such a long time and he picked right back up on our conversations as though I had only been gone a moment. His joy and love was sincere and compelling. I have so many memories of him in such a small area of his life, but be assured that even more than missed, he is respected, admired and every interaction with him is a warm, joyful memory.
My heart goes out to Rev. Tresslar's family, and I will be lifting all up in prayer. I so enjoyed the time that he served as our pastor at Middletown UMC. May God comfort you, and may your loving memories bring you smiles in the midst of your sorrow.
My condolences to the family. The loss of a loved one is never easy. May our loving God continue to bless and strengthen you as you remember that his Word the Bible at John 5:28, 29 says that there is going to be a resurrection. With this promise it is possible for you to see him again because we know that God can not lie. The best Friend a bereaved person can have is our Creator, Jehovah God. We are encouraged at 1 Peter 5:7 to pour out our heart to him in prayer because "he cares for you." Moreover, he promises that all who do so will have their thoughts and feelings soothed by "the peace of God that surpasses all understanding." (Philippians 4:6, 7) Please allow God to help you heal by means of his Word the Bible along with the site jw.org. Even though it may seem that some have forgotten his many acts of love and kindness, we can be sure that God will not. May all the many wonderful memories that William your loved one provided comfort you during this most difficult time.
My prayers for all of you family that you rest in the peace of the salvation promised through Christ. I am most sorry for your loss and sorry that I am not close enough to come and celebrate his life with you. I do pray you have a good time together as you reflect on the many contributions and joys of his life on this earth. May we all look forward to life eternal.
