Condolences
I want to express my sincerest sympathy to David and the Scherer family and friends because of losing Mick recently in death. When our loved ones fall asleep in death, the pain and grief seems unbearable. Our loving God Jehovah (Psalm 83:18) understands how we feel and he comforts us by means of his word the Bible. Psalm 34: 18 tells us: "Jehovah is close to the brokenhearted; He saves those who are crushed in spirit." Jehovah invites you to throw all your burdens on him and he will sustain you in your time of grief. None of us are guaranteed tomorrow, but we are all guaranteed a resurrection. (John 5:28, John 6:40 and John 11:23-25) Also, Titus 1: 2 tells us this promise of a resurrection: "is based on a hope of the everlasting life that God, who cannot lie, promised long ago." Isaiah 26:19 "Your dead will live......And the earth will let those powerless in death come to life." Isaiah 25:8 "He will swallow up death forever. For Jehovah himself has spoken it." I'm sorry I never met Michael in person. I found him on Facebook a few years ago when I noted that, although we're probably not related, we share the same last name. At the time we met, I had just lost my loving life partner of 28 years, and a long-term gay relationship was another thing we had in common. We chatted a few times and kept in touch on Facebook through the years.
Michael provided comfort on the loss of my life partner and now I extend my heartfelt condolences to his partner and his family. He will be missed.
Mick was a sweet and gentle soul, and a true and loyal friend. Thank you for sharing his art.
Our fourth-grade teacher used Mick's art to decorate our classroom. We were all astounded at his talent.
Much love to you, Dave.
Mick, U will be missed
Happy Birthday 2U

His death takes a wonderfully talented and gentle soul from us all. I will always treasure my memories of him from when we were eight years old and classmates at Cicero Elementary through our time as a roommates at IU to the too few get togethers in the last forty years. Farewell, my friend.
Dave,
With much sadness I send my heartfelt sympathies to you. I find myself smiling as I remember the morning sun, hot coffee and deep conversations shared over brush strokes and flurries of color and form. Mick taught me more than watercolor techniques and composition. I learned to be confident ~ to engage my creativity ~ to commit to persistence and to call myself an artist.
Here's to the truths, the Christmas gatherings with delightful eats and decorations galore, spring flowers and summer blooms, lunch with Sue Keaton, Remy, Vincent and Theo and mostly sharing life ~ you, me and Mick.
Again, I am.so sorry for your loss. I will keep you in my prayers
xx00xx,
Ellen
So sad to hear of your loss. Mick was such a wonderful artist and a great teacher at the Sullivan Munce. I am sitting here looking at a beautiful painting he helped me with in a class! He really helped beautify this world and had a kind heart.
David, we were very saddened to hear of Mick's passing. He was a wonderful man and well remembered. Condolences from Dennis & Tammie Hardin
