Obituary of Charlotte Ann Harding

Charlotte Ann Harding, 87, of Avon passed away on August 2, 2023. She was born in Cass County, IN to Michael Charles “Mike” and Maxine C. Latz on August 31, 1935. She was employed with GMAC from 1954 until 1962 where she became the first female supervisor. From 1964 until 2021, she worked as a licensed public accountant. She did taxes for long-time tax clients and friends until age 85.

She was an avid hockey fan, holding season tickets to the Racers, Checkers and Indianapolis Ice throughout the years. She saw Wayne Gretsky play his first professional hockey game as a Racer. Her favorite player to watch was her grandson, Michael, who played hockey from age 3 through college. Charlotte was also an avid race fan. She attended many Indianapolis 500 races from the 1950’s through the 1980’s, and was among the first to have season tickets in the Northwest Vista when it was built. She attended the inaugural Indy Car
race at Walt Disney World. While Charlotte was not a huge Disney fan, she enjoyed it because so many of her family loved Disney. She did, however, have a special affinity for Olaf. Charlotte also loved ice cream and firmly believed ice cream could make anything better! Her greatest love was her family — they were everything to her.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband of 48 years, William E. “Bill” Harding. She is survived by her son, W. Michael (Lisa) Harding; daughter, Trish Harding; grandson, Michael C. (Lisa) Harding; granddaughter, Molly (Steven) Hess; great grandsons, Lucas Hess, Cole and Corbyn Harding; great granddaughter, Harper Hess; nephew, Jeffrey Harding; and niece, Donna
Kathryn Rogler.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions be made in honor of Charlotte to The Megan Weisenbach Foundation by visiting themwfoundation.org or mailing to 5139 Greenheart Drive Indianapolis, IN 46237.
